"Pauline Ross - is the founder and Artistic Director of The Playhouse, a Community Arts Centre located on a neutral site in Derry/Londonderry. Apart from their Theatre Programme, their main departments are Community Arts Education/Training and Community Relations. Both these departments work within the North West Region of Northern Ireland and the border counties. Since its inception in 1992, The Playhouse has won many awards for its valuable community work and has built up a network of practicing artists who work around the globe in countries emerging from civil wars, genocides, and conflicts. They firmly believe that the arts have an important role to play in the current Peace Process, for the purposes of communication, understanding, creating empathy and healing.
