Story Abstract |
'Bob served with the 1st Battalion of the Queen's Regiment between 1972 and 1984.Bob served four emergency tours in Belfast and and one in Derry in the 1970s followed by a posting to Omagh as a member of the resident battalion the early 1980s. During this service, Bob rose through the ranks from private to lance-corporal and then to corporal. Bob's story is compiled from the questionnaire and a lengthy correspondence between October 1997 and June 1998.' (from page 82 in the book) |
